Attention Maynard teachers! Do you want to learn something new this summer? The Maynard Education Foundation is again partnering with the Fund for Teachers program to award $10,000 in grant money to MPS teachers. Last year, one teacher participated in an Earthwatch expedition in Rome, Italy, and another traveled to Guatemala to improve her spanish. What do you want to learn? Applications are due February 28, 2005 and awards will be announced on March 16, 2005. Read more and download an application.Enjoy samples of food specialties from area restaurants and support the Maynard schools at the third annual Taste of Maynard. Last year's event was the talk of the town! Please join us on Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Maynard Lodge of Elks (34 Powdermill Rd). There will be live jazz music, a cash bar, and door prizes. Tickets are available for $30 in advance from Jim McCann at the Middlesex Savings Bank, 17 Nason Street or Maynard High School's WAVM radio/television station. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $35 each. All proceeds will benefit the Maynard Education Foundation.

- Attention Maynard teachers! Need $$$ to purchase materials and resources to make an innovative project happen in your classroom? MEF is pleased to announce the availability of Innovation Grants. Applications are due October 5, 2003 and the notification of awards will be October 21, 2003. To read more about the grant and download the application, click here.
- Please join us on Thursday, October 23, 2003 at Fowler School for MEF's annual Fall Celebration of Teaching and Learning. The celebration will be from 3:30-5:00 p.m. and will include presentations from those teachers receiving MEF Discovery Grants this summer, as well as honor this year's recipients of MEF Innovation Grants.
- Representatives of MEF will be at the Maynard Farmer's Market on October 4, 2003 to answer your questions. Please stop by, see what we've done since 2000, and find out how you can help our schools.
- Attention Maynard teachers! Need $$$ to learn something new this summer? This summer, MEF will award up to $2500 to Maynard teachers that best demonstrate how they proposed learning initiative will impact their teaching. - Thanks for helping to make the first Taste of Maynard was a success! Our sincerest thanks to the wonderful restaurants who donated their food and time: Savoury Lane, Neighborhood Pizze, Vincenzo's Ristorante, Blue Coyote Grill, White Star Gourmet, Sit 'n Bull, Quarterdeck Seafoods, Monsoon Indian Bistro, 17 Summer, Mary's Catering, and Little Pusan. Roche Brothers, Stop and Shop, and Shaws donated softdrinks. The Flower Pot and Hawe's Florists, both of Maynard, donated flowers, and the Elks Lodge of Maynard donated use of the space for the evening. You can read more about the event in the Beacon Villager. Save the date! The second annual Taste of Maynard will be March 7, 2004.
